The team’s victory marks the seventh time a Township delegation has won the title. “Having these lifeguards consistently place amongst the best in area competitions is just another level of pride and gratitude we have for their service.THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Woodlands Township lifeguard team recently took first place in the Texas State Lifeguard Championship, hosted by the Texas Public Pool Council in Brenham, TX. “Every year we are amazed at the exceptional work our lifeguards do to keep swimmers safe in our community pools,” says John McGowan, Director of Parks & Recreation at The Woodlands Township. The Township lifeguard teams ended the competition in first, second, third, fourth, fifth and seventh places overall. All six teams placed in the top three of every event, with one team winning first place overall in the competition. ![]() The Township brought six lifeguard teams and competed in events to test skills in CPR/First Aid, Water Surveillance and Rescue, and Spinal Management. ![]() The Township lifeguards ended the competition taking first, second, third, fourth, fifth and seventh places overall.
